AGS: Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome CTCL: cutaneous T-cell lymphoma SAMHD1: SAM domain and HD domaincontaining protein 1 SAMS: stroke, aneurysm, moyamoya, and stenosis SLE: systemic lupus erythematosus INTRODUCTION Mutations in the SAMHD1 (SAM domain and HD domainecontaining protein 1) gene are implicated in SAMS (stroke, aneurysm, moyamoya, and stenosis) association, also described as AicardiGoutieres syndrome type 5 (AGS-5). We present a patient with homozygous germline mutations in SAMHD1 who subsequently had a CD8 aggressive epidermotropic cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL).

Primary cutaneous aggressive epidermotropic CD8+ T-cell lymphoma.

Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas most commonly have a CD4(+) memory T-cell phenotype with relatively indolent course, but may in rare cases present with a CD8(+) cytotoxic phenotype exhibiting strikingly more aggressive clinical behavior. We present two cases of the clinically aggressive subtype of primary cutaneous epidermotropic CD8(+) cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and review the current literature, cl...

An Aggressive Epidermotropic Type of Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma: A Case Report

Mycosis Fungoides (MF) is the most common type of Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma (CTCL) and represents nearly 50% of all primary cutaneous lymphomas [1]. MF is characterized by an epidermotropic skin infiltrate of atypical CD4+ phenotype lymphocytes. In a minority of MF cases, the atypical infiltrate is CD8 positive. The later form of CTCL generally follows a rapid, aggressive clinical course [2]. H...

CD8+ epidermotropic cytotoxic T-cell lymphoma with peripheral blood and central nervous system involvement.

BACKGROUND Most cutaneous T-cell lymphomas demonstrate a malignant population with a CD4(+) phenotype. In rare cases, CD8(+) phenotypes have been described based on immunostaining of skin specimens. Although some CD8(+) lymphomas have an indolent course, others, such as CD8(+) epidermotropic cytotoxic T-cell lymphomas, are typically more aggressive. To our knowledge, involvement of peripheral b...

Recurrent course and CD30 expression of atypical T lymphocytes distinguish lymphomatoid papulosis from primary cutaneous aggressive epidermotropic CD8+ cytotoxic T-cell lymphoma.

ISSN 0001-5555 Lymphomatoid papulosis (LyP) is characterised by a chronic course of years to decades of recurrent papulonodular lesions, each of which undergoes spontaneous regression after weeks or months (1). Recently LyP type D was identified as a new histolopathological variant simulating a...

Cutaneous CD8+ Cytotoxic T-Cell Lymphoma Infiltrates: Clinicopathological Correlation and Outcome of 35 Cases

INTRODUCTION Cytotoxic CD8+ T-cell lymphomas are only rarely encountered and thus remain only poorly characterized. Our aim was to collect and correlate clinical and histological data of CD8+ skin lymphoma infiltrates to obtain a proper subtype assignment of CD8+ skin lymphoma infiltrates and to derive putative prognostic markers thereof. METHODS Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded (FFPE) ti...
